The holidays are approaching and so are the parties. Think you can’t wear metallic eye shadow? According to fashion experts, it is a look that anyone can pull off if done correctly. Keeping it simple is key, says one expert who advises to use “just a swipe” of metallic shadow on upper eyelids, or as a line of liquid eyeliner. Nick Barose, makeup artist who works with celebrities, says shiny products are better than sparkly ones if you want to look sophisticated, but not too young.
Barose recommends using a metallic power eye shadow on the upper lids along with smokier colors for a dramatic
look. He also notes women can use a dark pewter metallic color to line eyes. Making that line a little thicker will make it more dramatic as well. Finish your metallic look with black mascara and keep your lips on the neutral side so you don’t look like too much of a throwback.
Trying the metallic look for an upcoming holiday party is a fun way to add some extra glam to your usual makeup routine. When you are all dressed up for a night out with friends, it’s fun to have your makeup reflect the festive nature of the season.
