When I think of a sweet and refreshing white wine the first choice that comes to mind, a glass of Gallo’s Moscato. Typically, this wine is paired with a scrumptious dessert but I think you will be amazed to find it pairs well with a yummy appetizer and a flavor packed meal.
Upon burying my nose into the glass I was taken in by the light notes of Pear and floral undertones. Gallo’s Moscato is light and refreshing, it paired amazingly well with Sharp Cheddar Cheese and Peppered Salami (I used Boar’s Head). In addition, we added some sweet red, yellow and orange peppers to our appetizer. The sweet but light notes of the Moscato brought the true essence of the cheese to taste and the peppers added a zip to our taste buds. If you are a fan of nuts, their Moscato pairs fabulously with Pistachios.
For lunch I baked a fresh loaf of French Bread in the oven just until it reached a golden brown. We made a super stacked sandwich filled with Pepperoni , Salami, and Provolone Cheese (Boar’s Head). I also added some fresh Romaine Lettuce and Roma Tomatoes. Sipping my flavorful Moscato while enjoying my “bursting-at-the-seams” subs, I truly couldn’t think of a better way to spend my Sunday afternoon!
