Founded by Victor Wilde in 2003 and based in Downtown Los Angeles.
Victor Wilde was born a vegetarian in Brooklyn, New York, to a very carnivorous family, thus preparing him for a life of conflict. It was in fact a crushing defeat at the hands of Michael Bloomberg in the 2001 New York City mayoral race that drove Wildeβs wagon west. His inherent passion for all things creative was evident early on as he would create works of art with the various items left to him by his grandfather of the same name. Wilde perpetually explores various mediums of creation and destruction, which include but are not limited to filmmaking, politics, writing, painting, sculpture and many aspects of concept and design. Wilde is the creator, president, and chief designer of the Downtown Los Angeles based lifestyle brand,β Bohemian Society,β He is a cofounding member of the Brooklyn bred performance art group βThe Mercury Men,β both of which continually produce and exhibit their works in a number of mediums and in venues from the utterly guttural to the most prestigious.
The Bohemian Society SS 2013 Collection was an awesome show but that’s where it ended for me. The shocking avant-gaurd type punk look looks cool on the runway but trashy on the streets. Many of their pieces are are not flattering to the body, don’t make sense, and are simply, not wearable everyday fashion.
