Your skin will be set with my favorite skin care set- Josie Maran Argan Skincare Ritual Set, $24. The Josie Maran set feels and smells amazing (It even tastes good too, lol! However I don’t recommend trying it but let me tell you, if it gets on your lips and you happen to taste it, it has a great taste!)! I would only recommend this set though for someone with dry or normal skin types, not oily as it’s oily in nature. To keep the rest of your body silky smooth pick up some L’Occitane Cleansing and Softening Shower Oil with Almond Oil $9.50.

Strobing is trending on all of your social media and yes women’s faces have started to catch light more than they used to. So, is strobing just another word for highlighting? Yes. It’s highlighting with a flare (literally) but it is different than your typical highlighting in many ways. The industry has taken highlighting to a whole new level with strobing which is going to enhance light reflection and keep those cheek bones poppin’.

“The goal of strobing is to create radiant, flawless, youthful looking skin,” says lead makeup director Carina Hernandez of international beauty service company, Event Makeup in San Diego. Hernandez advises scheduling more time to do your makeup if you plan on strobing, “it is a longer process because you’re building the products and it also takes more advanced techniques.” 

Thankfully we have our very own expert to tell us how strobing is done to get that dewy, youthful glow!

1. Start with clear skin, “It’s important to fully exfoliate your skin so that you’re face looks flawless and so your makeup doesn’t look patchy or flaky. I like to use Dermadoctor Physical Chemistry Facial Microdermabrasion + Multiacid Chemical Peel. You don’t want your products to catch on your skin and highlight the wrong things,” explains Hernandez.
2. Hernandez suggests using Dermadoctor Photodynamic Therapy 3-in-1 Facial Lotion with Broad Spectrum SPF 30.
3. “Apply a luminous primer like Becca Backlight Priming Filter $38,” suggests Hernandez.
4. Hernandez says to then work the areas you’re strobing with a crème like MAC Strobe Cream $33.
5. “Then set it with an illuminating powder like Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured in opal $38 or Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Gilded Honey (effervescent caramel honey) $26 or Too Faced Candlelight Glow Duo $30, those are my personal favorites,” says Hernandez.

Hernandez then gave us some tips that will help with the process. “If using other liquid products,” she suggests, “start with foundation, concealer, strobe cream (in the areas you want to highlight), apply the setting powder, a crème over the same areas and then finally using highlighting powders for the best effect. Using a beauty blender is the best way to blend without over blending; I use fingers to tap in the creams and the MAC blush brush 116 for any powders.”

I don’t know about you, but Karl Lagerfeld personally designs my Chanel party attire and well, all of my attire actually (he just doesn’t know it). The moment that those Chanel models hit the runway I adjust my shopping accordingly. Doesn’t everyone? Well, if you are a late bloomer, keep reading for the latest inspiration coming straight from Chanel’s Métiers d’Art Show in Rome. It’s everything that you will need to guide you through every family gathering, every party, and every night out with the girls and it’s all very, je ne sais quoi or insta-worthy, if you will. It reinvents the little black dress.

Three words some up my favorites from the pre-fall collection for Chanel; Crazy, Sexy, Cool. As they say, when in Rome…do as the Romans do. And the Romans are keeping it a bit more coquettish than we are used to seeing. The flirtatious collection showed legs covered in black lace, tops with one shoulder bare, black mini dresses, tops cropped up a bit, and super defined waist lines with black ciré pencil skirts. Some pieces looking like they just came out of your negligee drawer.

Models looked go-go glam with large demi-beehive hair, big doll-eyed makeup, and of course short dresses. The skimpy clothing displayed with fine lingerie type embroidering was paired with large coats that help tame the collection.

Chanel at the Cinecittà film studio No. 5

The incredible show on Tuesday night took place at the Cinecittà film studio No. 5 was staged as the Paris of the past that we all know and love. The set was complete with wine, cheese shops, a corner bakery, oyster bar and the main attraction was at the cinema. The cinema showed a short directed by Lagerfeld himself and it starred a young and flirty Coco.

The fine detailing of the clothing was in line with the fine Paris art we have seen century after century and what a time to celebrate the wonderful history of Paris after such horrific current events.

“I didn’t know when we started the idea of Paris in Rome that it would be the best moment to show a perfect, romantic Paris when Paris today in reality is the opposite of a romantic city,” said Lagerfeld.

“It’s really unbelievable, no?”

Her background is that of a makeup and fashion stylist and photographer, her love of baking was just a hobby. She taught herself how to create treats by watching YouTube videos, and continues to practice new techniques. Her desserts often incorporate found or made objects, such as handmade candles unique to each piece. She has said many of the items used in food and photo shoots tend to come from estate sales, Wal-Mart and even Home Depot. By glancing at the culinary masterpieces, you can make a direct connection between precise detail of brushstrokes on desserts and intricate visual nuances of her makeup styling work.

Christine works both in front of and behind the camera to capture not only what she’s whipping up in the kitchen, she also adds her flair for bringing horror to food and photos. Her sense of humor comes out in the poses, funny captions, and minute details. Tiny skulls adorn a cake, she made alien crustacean-like cookies, and in a photoshoot, her fling with a murderous 80s look-alike gets cut short by her beheading him. Kill or be killed. That’s funny, right? Right. Who doesn’t like a pretty lady who’s into creepy things and can make you laugh? A touch of gore with exquisite Gothic details are seen on many of her cakes, ranging from weddings to voodoo-themed parties, and they all look scary good.

After you see a photo, her beauty can be compared to that of Lana Del Rey, with flowing dark locks and Old Hollywood glam. McConnell also possesses quite a bit of talent, as her photos and baking clearly depict. She isn’t too shabby with a makeup kit, either. She works as a stylist for the Cal Martini Color Group in Beverly Hills, and has accomplished quite a bit of celebrity styling for shoots and events, which is how she makes a living.
