Here’s the deal

If you’ve ever searched how to find your own style, you’ve probably ended up scrolling through a hundred lookbooks that all feel like the same girl in different boots.

Your style should make you feel like you, not like you’re playing dress up for someone else’s mood board.

So how do you actually build an aesthetic that fits you without getting overwhelmed by trends?

Let’s break it down.

Why Most People Feel Lost About Personal Style

Here’s what’s changed

Social media didn’t just expand your fashion inspo—it drowned it.

You’re seeing soft girl one second, streetwear the next, then quiet luxury, then maximalist chaos. Pinterest and Instagram are inspiring, sure, but they also make you question every outfit you own.

And no, buying what an influencer links does not count as finding your own style.

What People Get Wrong About Aesthetic

Mistake 1

You think you need to fit into one box

Your style can be layered. Maybe you’re sporty one day and moody the next.

That’s allowed.

Mistake 2

You try to start with clothes

Wrong move. Start with vibes, not pieces. Mood first, closet second.

Mistake 3

You confuse trend-following with self-expression

Trends are tools. Your aesthetic is the blueprint.

What Works Now

1. Make a “This Feels Like Me” board

Hop on Pinterest or save posts on Instagram

Collect anything that gives you that spark

Outfits, colors, textures, rooms, art, people—even quotes

Then zoom out

What repeats? Is it structure? Color palettes? Specific accessories? Oversized or fitted? Sleek or chaotic?

That pattern is the beginning of your aesthetic

2. Study role models, not clones

Rick Owens himself wears a uniform. Same silhouettes. Same colors. Same energy. Every day.

That’s style. He built an entire identity out of consistency.

Playboi Carti? Different vibe, same truth. He dresses with intention. Every detail speaks. You don’t need to copy them—just learn from their commitment.

You’re not dressing like them—you’re dressing with the same mindset.

3. Take inventory of your closet

Lay out what you already wear a lot

What feels right when you wear it? What always gets compliments? What makes you feel awkward?

Keep what works. Let go of stuff that doesn’t match your board.

4. Build a uniform

This does not mean wear the same thing

It means: find your go to structure

Example: Oversized jacket, tight tee, chunky shoes

Switch up color or vibe, but keep the shape

This gives your look consistency even when the pieces change

Bonus Style Hacks

Screenshot your own favorite outfits and save them in a folder

Try small aesthetic edits on a budget with accessories first

Use IG’s saved folders by vibe

Capsule wardrobes actually help if you’re overwhelmed

Rewearing is not a crime—it’s taste

If you’re serious about how to find your own style, stop chasing trends and start studying yourself

Your aesthetic is already there

Pinterest just helps you see it

Rick built his identity in uniform

Carti built his in chaos

Yours is waiting. Just start paying attention.

You’ve seen it everywhere. Celebrities posting “raw,” “unfiltered,” and “no-makeup” selfies that look… oddly flawless. The internet claps, headlines gush over “real beauty,” and fans praise their confidence.

But if you’ve ever looked in the mirror after eight hours of sleep, a full skincare routine, and still wondered why your bare face doesn’t look like that—this article is for you.

Let’s unpack what’s really going on with celebrity beauty trends and the rise of the no-makeup selfie culture, and what you should know before falling for it.

The “No-Makeup” Look Isn’t New—It’s Just Rebranded

Celebrities have always influenced beauty standards. But in the age of filters, Facetune, and “authenticity marketing,” they’ve shifted gears.

The new trend? Looking natural… but only if you’re still glowing, contoured, and perfectly lit.

Despite being labeled “no-makeup,” these selfies often include:

Tinted moisturizers

Brow gels

Lash lifts or extensions

Lip balm with color

A whole lot of skincare prep

Ring lights and angles

That’s not bare—it’s curated.

Why They’re Doing It: Strategy, Not Bravery

There’s a reason celebrity beauty trends lean into this raw-but-polished aesthetic: it builds relatability while still upholding unreachable standards.

This “effortless beauty” becomes a marketing tool. It says:

“Look, I’m just like you… but glowing.”

What it really does is:

Promote brands (skincare lines, natural makeup)

Signal vulnerability and confidence

Reinforce their personal brand as “authentic” and “real”

And yes—it works. These posts go viral, build fan trust, and sell millions in products.

Why It’s Harmful (Even If It Feels Empowering)

Here’s the issue: when the no-makeup selfie culture gets positioned as brave or empowering, it sends a distorted message.

If a celebrity’s “natural” face still looks camera-ready, it silently says:

This is what no makeup should look like.

You can look like this too… if you just try harder.

And that’s dangerous. Because for most people, “no makeup” means texture, tired eyes, blemishes, uneven tone—and all of that is completely normal.

But after seeing dozens of celebrity selfies with perfectly clear skin, viewers may:

Feel ashamed of their own real faces

Spend more money trying to look naturally flawless

Feel like they’re “failing” at self-care

What Real “No Makeup” Looks Like

It’s important to remember what your skin is meant to look like:

Pores are normal

Breakouts happen

Skin changes with stress, hormones, weather

Eye bags and dark circles are common, even after sleep

True bare-face confidence isn’t about pretending you woke up perfect—it’s about knowing you’re still worthy without performing for a lens.

What You Can Do Instead

If you enjoy the no-makeup look, go for it. But do it for yourself—not to compete with filtered, professional celebrity posts.

Tips to make it real:

Skincare first: Hydrated skin looks brighter, naturally.

Limit comparison: Follow creators who show actual skin—not curated versions.

Normalize your face: Take photos of your natural face often. Get comfortable with it.

Call out fake authenticity: If a celeb’s “no-makeup” pic includes heavy skin smoothing, it’s okay to notice.

The rise of celebrity beauty trends like the no-makeup selfie culture might look empowering on the surface—but they often reinforce the same impossible standards dressed up as “authenticity.”

You don’t need to look perfect without makeup to be confident.

You don’t need to perform rawness to be real.

And you definitely don’t need to compare your morning face to someone else’s filtered “I woke up like this” post.

Real beauty doesn’t need a PR team. Just honesty, care, and a break from the pressure to look effortlessly perfect every single day.

First dates can often feel like you’re walking through a minefield of awkward silences, nervous jitters, and that persistent worry about saying something totally off. The truth is, almost everyone feels that way! Whether you’re shy, outgoing, or somewhere in between, the first date jitters are completely normal.

But here’s the good news—there are some simple first date tips that can make the experience much more enjoyable and, yes, less awkward. With just a bit of preparation and the right mindset, you can turn that nervous energy into a fun and memorable experience.

1. Start with Low-Stakes Expectations

Let’s get this out of the way: first dates are not interviews. You’re not auditioning for a role as “The One.” Instead, think of it as an opportunity to meet someone new, get to know them a little, and see if there’s a spark.

Rather than stressing about whether or not they’ll like you, focus on showing up as your true self. Research shows that being authentic fosters better connections and helps reduce anxiety. After all, no one expects perfection—just a chance to enjoy each other’s company!

2. Choose a Comfortable Setting

Where you go matters! Picking a setting that’s easy-going can really help set the tone. While fancy dinners may sound nice, they can add unnecessary pressure. Instead, opt for something casual like a coffee shop, a walk in the park, or an interactive activity like mini-golf or an escape room. These settings not only keep the conversation flowing but also give you something fun to do together.

Psychological studies highlight that shared experiences bring people closer faster, and the added focus on the activity means you’re less likely to be caught in a moment of awkward silence.

3. Prepare a Few Open-Ended Questions

Don’t feel like you have to memorize a whole script, but having a few interesting questions on hand can keep the conversation flowing. Instead of the usual “What do you do?” try asking something like:

“What’s the most random skill you’ve picked up recently?”

“If you could time-travel, where would you go and why?”

These questions spark unique and engaging conversations, making you seem more fun and interested in getting to know them. Plus, open-ended questions are proven to foster deeper conversations and make both people feel more connected.

4. Embrace the Power of Humor

Humor is an amazing way to break the ice. Even if you’re not a stand-up comedian, a little self-deprecating humor can go a long way in easing the tension. Whether you laugh at a funny slip-up or joke about your nervousness, humor has a magical way of building trust and rapport.

The key is not delivering a perfect joke but creating a light and relaxed atmosphere. If something awkward happens, laugh it off. You’re human, and it shows you’re comfortable with being yourself.

5. Practice Active Listening

It’s easy to get caught up in your own nerves and worry about what to say next, but active listening is one of the best first date tips. Show that you’re engaged by nodding, making eye contact, and responding thoughtfully to what they say. People love feeling heard, and it’s a surefire way to make a great impression.

A simple rule? Avoid talking too much about yourself. Balance the conversation so both of you feel heard and valued.

6. Know When to Wrap It Up

When the energy starts to dip, it’s a good idea to wrap up the date before things get too awkward. Ending on a high note is the way to go! A simple “I had a great time—would you like to do this again?” can leave a lasting positive impression.

First dates don’t have to be perfect to be fun! By focusing on being yourself, choosing a laid-back setting, and embracing some humor, you’ll find that the date can be much more enjoyable than you imagined. Remember, it’s not about avoiding awkwardness—it’s about making the experience a fun and memorable one.

Good luck, and happy dating!

Have you ever met someone who seemed to have an almost magnetic pull on you? Maybe it was their laugh, the way they carried themselves, or some inexplicable “vibe” they gave off. While it might seem like magic, science shows us that attraction isn’t just about looks—it’s a mix of genetics, psychology, and even subconscious signals we don’t fully control.

Let’s explore why we’re drawn to certain people more than others and how attraction works on a deeper level.

1. The Role of Genetics: The Scent of Compatibility

Believe it or not, your genes might be working behind the scenes as matchmaker. Research on the Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC), a group of genes that influence your immune system, suggests that we are subconsciously attracted to people with different MHC genes from our own. This genetic diversity helps create stronger immune systems in offspring.

How do we pick up on this? Through scent! A fascinating study published in Nature Genetics had participants sniff T-shirts worn by others, and women preferred the scent of men whose MHC genes were different from their own. Interestingly, birth control seemed to alter women’s preferences, showcasing how deeply biology influences attraction.

2. Facial Symmetry and Evolutionary Psychology

When it comes to attraction, symmetry is key. Evolutionary psychologists believe symmetrical faces signal good health and strong genes. People with more symmetrical features are often seen as more attractive because symmetry suggests that their bodies have successfully battled environmental challenges during development.

However, it’s not just about looking “perfect.” What’s considered attractive also depends on cultural standards and personal preferences. So, while symmetry plays a part, it’s not the only factor that drives attraction.

3. Familiarity and Attachment: Opposites Don’t Always Attract

Contrary to the popular saying “opposites attract,” research shows that familiarity actually breeds attraction. Psychologist Dr. Robert Zajonc’s studies on the “mere exposure effect” reveal that we tend to feel more comfortable and drawn to people who remind us of familiar faces, such as our parents or past partners.

This explains why we often find ourselves attracted to people with similar qualities, backgrounds, or interests. Shared values, experiences, and emotional connections often create stronger bonds than surface-level differences.

4. The Power of Body Language and Emotional Chemistry

Nonverbal cues also play a significant role in attraction. Open body language, eye contact, and even mirroring someone’s movements can strengthen a connection. A study in the Journal of Nonverbal Behavior found that people are more likely to be attracted to those who mimic their gestures and speech patterns. This subconscious mirroring signals empathy and helps build rapport.

On an emotional level, attraction thrives when someone makes us feel good. Dopamine, the “feel-good” neurotransmitter, is released during exciting or happy moments. That’s why fun dates, like roller coaster rides or dancing, can intensify romantic chemistry.

5. The Wild Card: Timing and Life Circumstances

Lastly, timing plays a critical role in attraction. Psychologists suggest that we’re more likely to develop feelings for someone during periods of emotional or physical vulnerability. Sometimes, it’s not so much about the person themselves, but the emotional space we’re in when we meet them. This explains why timing can be everything when it comes to sparks flying.

Attraction: Science Meets Mystery

While science gives us some insight into the mechanics of attraction, certain aspects remain beautifully mysterious. Why do we feel butterflies for one person and not another? It could be their laugh, their kindness, or something you can’t quite put your finger on.

Pro Tip: If you’re curious to dive deeper into the science of attraction, check out Psychology Today’s guide or explore the works of Helen Fisher, a biological anthropologist famous for her research on love and attraction.

Attraction begins with biology, but it’s the emotional, psychological, and personal connections that make it truly magical. Who knew that love and attraction could have such a scientific twist?

Keeping the spark alive in a long-term relationship is like tending a fire—it takes care, attention, and a little creativity.

The honeymoon phase may fade, but that doesn’t mean the magic has to disappear. With a mix of science-backed tips and thoughtful gestures, you can keep the love alive and thriving for years to come.

Here are some fun, simple ways to bring the spark back and keep it shining bright.

1. Embrace Novelty Together

When everything was new, your relationship probably felt exciting and fresh. That’s not just nostalgia—it’s science! Studies by psychologist Dr. Arthur Aron show that trying new activities together can boost relationship satisfaction.

Novel experiences trigger dopamine, the brain’s feel-good chemical, which is also responsible for the giddy feelings of early romance.

What to do: Plan something adventurous like a dance class, escape room, or even cooking a new cuisine together. Even small experiences, like visiting a local art gallery, can reignite those butterflies.

2. Little Gestures Make a Big Impact

While grand gestures are lovely, it’s the little things that truly keep love alive. Acts of kindness and gratitude—like a heartfelt note or making your partner’s favorite snack—show that you care in everyday moments.

Research shows that consistent small acts of affection strengthen bonds over time.

What to do: Leave a surprise “thinking of you” note, offer a hug when they least expect it, or handle one of their chores for the day. It’s the thought that counts!

3. Master the Art of Communication

Good communication isn’t just about talking—it’s about listening and responding.

The Gottman Institute highlights “bids for connection,” those small efforts to get your partner’s attention or support, like sharing a funny meme or mentioning something interesting. Responding positively to these bids builds emotional intimacy.

What to do: When your partner says, “Check this out!” don’t just nod. Engage with curiosity or humor—it’s the little things that build emotional bridges.

4. Keep Touch Alive

Physical touch evolves over time, but it remains a cornerstone of intimacy. Beyond sex, simple gestures like holding hands, cuddling, or back rubs release oxytocin—the bonding hormone that deepens emotional connection.

What to do: Start with small habits, like a daily hug or holding hands during a walk. These moments of closeness can work wonders.

5. Laugh Together Often

Laughter is one of the simplest ways to connect and strengthen your bond. Sharing humor builds a sense of partnership and helps you weather life’s challenges together.

What to do: Watch a comedy show, play a silly game, or relive funny memories from your relationship. Don’t be afraid to laugh at yourselves—it’s a love language all its own.

6. Grow Individually and as a Team

Long-term relationships thrive when both partners maintain their individuality while growing together. Encouraging each other to explore hobbies and tackle goals makes your partnership dynamic and inspiring.

What to do: Support each other’s personal goals, like learning a language or starting a workout routine. Celebrate achievements together and keep finding ways to grow as a couple.

The spark in long-term relationships doesn’t have to fade—it just transforms into a steadier, more lasting flame. By trying new things, communicating with intention, and celebrating the little moments, you can create a love that stands the test of time.

Love isn’t just about chasing the initial thrill; it’s about tending the fire together, every single day. Now, why not surprise your partner with a spontaneous date night or a heartfelt gesture? After all, romance isn’t reserved for the beginning—it’s something you build together for life.

Life can often feel like a whirlwind of responsibilities, leaving little room for romance. But every relationship deserves a little sparkle! Instead of sticking to the usual dinner and a movie, why not elevate your next date night with something truly special?

Whether you’re marking a milestone, planning a surprise, or simply want to break the routine, these glamorous date night ideas are designed to impress your partner and reignite the spark in your relationship. Get ready to create unforgettable memories together!

1. Starlit Rooftop Dinner

Why dine indoors when you can enjoy a meal under the stars? Transform your rooftop or balcony into a cozy haven. Set the mood with fairy lights, a stylish table setting, and delicious food—whether homemade or from your favorite restaurant.

A study published in the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships shows that shared experiences, especially in romantic settings, enhance relationship satisfaction. So don’t forget to bring along a blanket to cuddle under while you gaze at the stars.

2. Wine and Paint Night at Home

Channel your inner Picasso with a wine and paint night right at home. Gather some canvases, paints, and brushes, then uncork a bottle of wine (or sparkling water if you prefer). Follow an online tutorial or let your creativity run wild.

A 2016 study published in the Journal of Experimental Psychology found that creative activities can boost your mood and deepen connections. Plus, the laughter from your abstract masterpieces will be priceless!

3. Glamorous Movie Night with a Twist

Swap the usual couch and popcorn for a glamorous movie night. Create a mini cinema in your living room or backyard. Get some comfy cushions, set up a projector, and choose a classic film or a recent blockbuster.

You can even create a themed menu based on the movie. Want to watch “The Great Gatsby”? Serve up some 1920s-inspired cocktails and finger foods. This thoughtful touch not only shows your partner you care but also makes for a fun, memorable evening.

4. Gourmet Cooking Class

Cooking together can be a delightful bonding experience. Consider signing up for a gourmet cooking class, either in-person or online. Learning to whip up an impressive dish (think Italian pasta or French pastries) will teach you something new while allowing for plenty of laughs and maybe a few kitchen mishaps

! A study from the University of California found that couples who cook together experience increased satisfaction in their relationships. Plus, you get to enjoy a delicious meal at the end of it!

5. Themed Date Night: Travel Without Leaving Home

Feeling adventurous? Pick a country you both dream of visiting and create a themed night around it. Cook a traditional dish, play music from that culture, and even dress up accordingly. Whether it’s an Italian night with pasta and opera or a Japanese evening with sushi and karaoke, this themed date allows you to explore new cultures together without the airfare.

Relationship experts say exploring new things together strengthens bonds and increases satisfaction.

6. Outdoor Adventure: Glam Picnic

Who says picnics have to be casual? Pack a glamorous picnic with gourmet treats, a chic blanket, and your favorite drinks. Choose a scenic park or beach and indulge in a feast while soaking up nature.

A picnic is a wonderful opportunity to connect without distractions—no phones, no interruptions. Research indicates that outdoor experiences can boost happiness and relationship satisfaction, so make the most of it!

Why is a Girls Trip so Important?

After a long week, month, or year, you finally decide to have a trip that is meant to relax both your physical and mental health with your girls. Get your crew together and brainstorm a place that you all want to go, maybe just 2 hours from where you live and commit. Having these trips has many advantages that prove to be essential for both you and your entire girls’ crew. This article will discuss the importance of these girls’ trips.

Gain some Appreciation

Escaping from reality is essential to these girls’ trips simply because it is during these trips that girls gain a greater appreciation of each other and of their lives at home. This is mainly achieved because they have an exceptional group of girls who cheer you on and encourage you to live outside your box, something that you might not get at home. What is also fun is all of the compliments on new outfits or bathing suits that you would not get at home.

A Girls Trip Helps in Releasing Happy Hormones

Some research has proved that when girls hang out with their like-minded friends, their bodies release serotonin. This is a transmitter that is scientifically known as the happy hormone. Moreover, more of this hormone is released when girls hang out with their friends. This results in making these girls feel loved, trusted, and happy, all in all, relaxed.

Girls Trips Can Help You Live Longer

Studies have also shown that when being around like-minded friends who appreciate you can be an essential ingredient to your health. Other studies have proven that when you have good friends around, you will increase your lifespan. The ins and outs of life can be draining and get very repetitive. The laundry, dishes, diapers, lunches to be made, dinners, etc will all still be there. Take some time to immerse yourself into some deep conversations, belly laughs in the middle of the night, and really get to know your friends. If you have been putting off a girls’ trip because you feel like it is too selfish or irresponsible, I hope you will reconsider. A girl’s trip is sometimes all you need to feel refreshed and give your family the best version of you.

Top Reasons You Should See a Chiropractor

There are so many benefits to seeing a chiropractor. Here are 7 of our top reasons you should see a chiropractor.

1. To improve your posture

Not sitting or standing up straight can cause strain on your neck, shoulders, and back. A bad posture puts a large amount of stress on your ligaments and muscles. A chiropractor realigns your spine so that you are standing taller and decreases the chances of experiencing back pain.

Video Overview

2. To experience less pain

Receiving adjustments regularly can decrease the likelihood of degeneration or inflammation of joint and connective tissues. Just like a massage, it loosens up tight muscles, but also tightens muscles that are too loose. As a result, you’re able to do more of the things you like without worrying about your back pain.

4. To improve brain ability

Adjustments help get the blood flowing throughout your body and into your brain. This extra blood flow increases cognitive ability (thinking) and helps with hyperactivity, depression, and sleep. A calm and well-rested mind helps you have a happier disposition and can improve the quality of your life and relationships.

3. To play sports

In addition to helping your body and mind feel better, chiropractic care can help your body heal faster after any sort of physical activity. With the extra blood flowing through your muscles, they’re able to recover better and faster from your morning workout so you’re ready to go again the next day. With all the mobility and function your body is able to handle after visiting the chiropractor, you can perform better in any sport.

5. To strengthen your immune system

Chiropractic care rejuvenates the function of many organ systems, such as heart, lung, digestive, and nervous systems. When these systems are working better, your body is able to fight off disease better. A better working immune system fights off illness more efficiently and helps you stay healthy for all those moments you don’t want to miss out on.

6. To have an easy fix for a painful problem

If you are experiencing any type of pain, whether it is joints or headaches, instead of reaching for the bottle of pain killers, visit a chiropractor to help you deal with your pain in a way that will benefit you for the rest of your life.

Natural trends are in full force in 2020. This trend while on the rise for a few years, is making a bigger comeback with celebrities, models, and artists choosing natural make-ups and hairstyles. Today we are focusing on hair and why many men and women are choosing natural locks over the wigs, perms, straighteners and other previously-preferred styling methods. Curly hair, after-all is what many ethnic women are born with.

Video Overview

While straightening and wigs have been the trend for many years, women are often choosing to return to natural when it comes to their hair. Ethnic women are not the only ones making the change. Celebrities such as Lorde, Taylor Swift, Troian Bellisario (Pretty Little Liars), Kerri Russell, Beyonce and even Shakira are all known to flaunt their curls.

If you have natural waves, curls or even coils your hair will be much healthier and happy when using the “curly girl method” as touted by thousands of curly hair supporters across the globe. Become a member of the Facebook group “The Curly Girl Method” to learn more.

What is the “curly girl method?” It is a way to get your hair back to its natural curly, vivacious state by ditching most common shampoos. Instead of shampoo, “the curly girl method” teaches focus on natural conditioners and cleansing solutions.

The following are steps you can take to help reverse the damage already done to your curly, wavy or coily hair type.

Hair Types and Treatments of Them

First, you must recognize that all hair types should be treated differently. Curly hair is differently than wavy and it is also different than hair with tight coils. To learn more about how to treat different hair types, keep reading or visit Naturally Curly for additional education.

Cleansing Your Hair Type

Because all hair types should be treated differently, each hair texture has a slightly different cleansing method. For wavy hair, use normal shampoo, but only once a week. Ensure a good conditioning after. Whether using leave-in, or rinse out conditioner is left up to preferences. Curly hair requires a wash even less often. Once a week or every ten days is the frequency with which curly hair should be cleansed. Women with coils should wash as little as possible. Instead, wet the hair down when it becomes matted or frizzy and apply conditioner.

What is Co-Washing and How do I Do It?

A co-wash is the next step for curly and coily hair. Co-wash is actually the process of cleaning the hair with conditioner. Conditioner should be applied generously to your hair after soaking your curls completely in the shower. Co-wash is helpful for keeping your hair clean and moisturized by eliminating the drying silicone that come in traditional shampoos. Silicone is the ingredient that creates foam the foaming effect in shampoo. The truth is that hair, when regularly shampooed is being dried out with each use. Using a co-wash that does not contain silicone or sulfates will help protect your hair from the drying/breakage effects of shampoo. Note: *Not all hair responds equally to co-washing. If hair is extra oily or dermatitis or dandruff is present, hair and scalp may actually react negatively to a co-wash on its own. Try it out and if it doesn’t work, try something else.

Conditioning Treatments for Your Hair

Conditioning is a step that is for wavy and curly hair, but should be left out with coily or kinky textured hair. Here is a list of some of the top natural conditioners and how they can help hair be properly cared for.

Darcy’s Botanical Daily Cleansing Conditioner Cream is a super concentrated cream great for moisturizing, softening, conditioning, and gently cleansing coils without stripping.

Ouidad Curl Co-Wash is a rich, low-lathering, sulfate-free cleansing conditioner that leaves hair moisturized, soft & frizz-free while gently clearing hair of buildup.

Pantene Pro-V Truly Natural Co-Wash Cleansing Conditioner instantly cleanses, conditions, and de-tangles hair in one easy step without stripping the hair’s natural moisture. This low-lathering formula refreshes unmanageable curls and helps control frizz, leaving hair soft and shiny after use.

Daily Fix Cleansing Hair Conditioner allows you to clean your hair without harsh Sulfates or drying detergents and is able to remove all but the heaviest silicone and oils/waxes as well as removing most mineral deposits (if you have “hard” water).

SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Co-Wash Conditioning Cleanser is one of the few cleansing conditioners that has cleansing ingredient or gentle detergent.

Eden BodyWorks Coconut Shea product line is a favorite product line. Both Coconut Oil and Shea Butter are nourishing and hydrating for any hair type. This co-wash is a Sulfate-free, no suds gentle cleansing conditioner cream made for removing residue and build up between regular washings to promote a healthy hair environment for growth.

Try one or two of them for yourself and see how your hair handles it. Remember that hair reacts differently, so don’t be surprised if results differ from what was said about the above products. Speak with a hairstylist for additional tips on curl washes.

Drying your Hair

Rinse coily/kinky hair thoroughly, to remove any excess residue. Wrap in a towel or hair wrap and leave for 15 minutes. This will help it stay moisturized until ready to style. Many times leaving the house with still wet hair and allowing it to dry naturally may be the best solution.

For wavy hair scrunch or pin until dry. For curly hair, allow it to dry naturally and then flip your head over and fluff.

Styling your Hair

When it comes to styling, there really isn’t a whole lot to do. Pin it back or leave it natural. Apply gel to give it that extra texture and boost, but many women and men are going without any extras to really let their hair breathe.

In the end it is all about what works for each individual person. Find the best method for you and go with it. Your hair and scalp will thank you.
