Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen Celebrate ‘Damien Hirst & The Row’ Bag in L.A.
On Wednesday, December 12th, the new luxury boutique, Just One Eye that is located in Hollywood held quite a celebration! It was all about the Just One Eye’s collaboration with The Row and Damien Hirst.
THE ROW was established in 2006 by Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen. Since its launch, the brand has expanded to include a range of ready-to-wear, eyewear, and handbags. THE ROW reflects a sense of relaxed and timeless elegance, focusing on fine fabrics and the perfect fit. In 2012, The Council of Fashion Designers of America named Ashley and Mary-Kate as Womenswear Designers of The Year. Part of THE ROW’s mission is to support high-end fashion manufacturing in the US.
Just One Eye features one-of-a-kind collaborations, thoughtful artistic exploration, and showcased objects – hand selected for quality, innovation, and artistry. Our philosophy is to create an open and ongoing space for the curation of fashion, art, jewelry, antiques, as well as exquisite furniture and design pieces. The gathering at the Just One Eye boutique revolved around the showcase of the night, The Row’s 12 Nile crocodile backpacks, each hand-painted and signed by Hirst.
Damien Steven Hirst is an English artist, entrepreneur and art collector. He is the most prominent member of the group known as the Young British Artists, who dominated the art scene in Britain during the 1990s.
The public has long awaited the price of the new 12 Nile Crocodile Backpacks. The owner of Just One Eye, Paola Russo has made these bags a symbol of status, pricing them at $55,000! Some of the guests Wednesday night had pre-ordered the bag to wear to the party.
The Row’s Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen also made an appearance at the party after doing a customer event at Neiman Marcus the just the day before. “We started this project a year ago, so it’s nice to finally get to celebrate with people,” said Mary-Kate, who said she’d be “forever grateful” to Russo for choosing The Row as the first brand carried in Just One Eye. “She has a vision, we have a vision. It’s great that we came together,” she said. Ashley went on to say, “We’re about to shoot our pre-fall look book, do sales, and then in February, we have our fall show again,” she said, adding, “I’m really ready for Christmas, which I’ll be spending at home with my family.”
