Event Makeup in San Diego, California has teamed up with local clothing designer, Andre Soriano for a photo shoot to release this sneak peak of Andre Soriano’s 2013 collection of gowns that was shown at Fashion Week San Diego. The photograph below was also featured in Fashion 5.0 Magazine! The photo shoot took place at the Lafayette Hotel where local photographer Danny Juare, with his assistant Joseph Baltazar, brilliantly captured the beauty and glamour of Andre’s dresses and really told the story behind the collection in each photo.
Andre Soriano’s collection infused Old Hollywood Glamour onto the Fashion Week Runway with evening gowns and cocktail dresses beautifully created and crafted by the veteran designer. It was no surprise when the creative director for this shoot, Manoj Sharma selected models, Robin Lynn Senne and Alex Womack to model his vision. Stylist, Jack Jacobs had an easy day working with such talented and beautiful models.
I was honored to have two of our artists there for the hair and makeup for this project. Carina and Natalya are local artists that have been with Event Makeup as it has grown to be the ‘go-to place’ for high end beauty services for any type of client and event, from celebrities to weddings and all the way to high fashion projects. “For this particular shoot the inspiration was Hollywood glamour with a twist. So we kept the eyes neutral with black heavy liner and very full lashes, we wanted to focus on the models amazing cheekbone structure and so we emphasized on a contouring and highlighting method, we also wanted to make her lips pop so we of course did the perfect red lips but added a touch of metallic gold to the center, which as you can see in the photos, the lips catch the most light,” said our head artist, Carina. The dresses that Jack hand selected for each girl fit the high fashion bill and helped shape the image of this collection. “The designs make you feel luxurious and glamorous to the point of you believing that there is a red carpet beneath you, as you walk into a room or down the street,” said one of the models.
Andre Soriano has been known to channel high fashion and high art with influences from cosmopolitan cities worldwide such as New York, Los Angeles, Paris, London, Milan and Tokyo. Andre Soriano only selects the best luxurious fabrics on the market such as satin, velvet, chiffon, cashmere, knits and the crochet with bead-work materials that come from Asia and Europe.
